I'm looking for families to join a free pilot and receive a private podcast episode or short documentary about a chapter of their lives they’d like to preserve, in exchange for honest feedback.

I'm building Long Story, a new product that turns family conversations into finished podcasts and films. I want to work closely with a few families to make it great before I try to sell it.

My grandfather rarely spoke about his past, including surviving the Holocaust. When we encouraged him to write a book, I finally learned about his life, his family, and what shaped him. That experience inspired my next project after years in tech: helping other families uncover stories they might otherwise never hear.

On Friday 18th September I was informed that there are very few cabins left on our Norway cruise next June - only 35 cabins available from 650. Prices range from £1,799 each for two people sharing an inside cabin, to £2,799 per person for two people sharing an Ocean View cabin. Solo occupancy prices range from £3,419 to £4,899 for the same cabins.  There are no places left in the first sitting for dinner.  Clearly we have chosen a very popular cruise!  Well done the 32 members who have booked!  Moira

One of our members came across the following leaflet at The Sculpture Gallery in The Corn Exchange. They run two day stone carving courses for beginners at a place in Holbeck cost £200.

Not only is Malcolm giving a talk to us this Monday but on the 30th September at 1.30 at the Horsforth Ballroom in the Library on Town Street he will be giving part 2 of a talk on Radio Reminiscences. Due to his popularity;arity only the first 60 will get in!

This is to let U3A members know that on Wednesday 9th September at Leeds Playhouse 10.30 till 11.30, on Level 2, there will be a FREE event, a Sing-Along with wonderful local singer and teacher Suzi Saperia.

A flyer has been received about Move it or Lose It which are exercise classes for seniors.The classes are aimed at senior adults who are looking to feel stronger, steadier and more confident.  The friendly inclusive class is designed to help them stay active, independent and connected.  The sessions are fun, sociable and suitable for all abilities – with exercises adapted for seated or standing, so they can go at their own pace. First class is free, then £7 thereafter.  They start in early September at Cookridhe Village Hall or The Grove Centre Horsforth

There are still a few places on this trip on September 25th with an overnight stay at the Mercure Hotel in Milton Keynes. You have the opportunity for an optional guided tour of the site and on the Saturday to enjoy vintage displays and entertainment as part of the 1940's weekend.
